I got this exact same call today, mine was from Doris Johnson in Richmond VA. she said I had a payday loan from 2008-2011 while I was in the Navy. She knew my address, my bank was navy federal, and that I was in the navy. Really scary and I have never gotten a payday loan in my life. I'm glad to see that this is a scam.

Like other callers, I got a recording claiming a lawsuit was pending, from "Grace Allen" of "MRP Services" at 515-212-2289. Recording clamed there was a "pending case in our office" and if I did not call back I'd waive my right to counsel. Uh-huh. They want money to make case go away. What case? They made it up.
There is no case. What there is an extortion attempt by them to scare you into paying. There is nothing in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights, or in any state or federal law or regulation that says that by not calling them back you are waiving your right to counsel.
Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

The recorded call was carefully worded to IMPLY I would be subject to an impending lawsuit without actually saying so. Thus the scamster stays within the letter of the law while still tricking victims into giving her/him money under false pretenses.
