I got this exact same call today, mine was from Doris Johnson in Richmond VA. she said I had a payday loan from 2008-2011 while I was in the Navy. She knew my address, my bank was navy federal, and that I was in the navy. Really scary and I have never gotten a payday loan in my life. I'm glad to see that this is a scam.
I returned the call after no voice mail was left and talked to someone named Lynn. She had a lot of personal information on me and was trying very hard to sound legitimate. I had taken out payday loans during that time but had paid them all back. She couldn't give me the company name or an exact date for the loan. She wanted $500 to settle a $1200 total and I told her I'd have to do some research before I agreed to pay anything. We will see if they call back. If they do, I now have some information on how to show them I know it's a scam. Ask for their company name, address and phone number. Let them know it's illegal for them to threaten me with legal action when attempting to collect a debt. Also, the statute of limitations in CA for suing to collect for a debt is 4 years and they were given me the very large range of 2008-2011 so there's that...
These prics have been calling me years! I have had 5 calls from them today.I live in Colorado. THEY ARE FRAUDS! I called them and told them that I know they are frauds and that it is illegal (it really is) for them to call me 5 times a day. If they have left a message, they cannot try to contact you again. If they really were legit, they would know that! 4 numbers ...904-647-2608, 904*479-9432, 515-212-2289, 302-327-1088
