Got a call from this number, display said New York so I didn't answer it. Left a voicemail, in a janky computer voice, saying they were the IRS and they were going to be filing a 'lawsuit' against me. And then left a completely different number to return a call to stop the legal process...
Got a scam phone call saying my computer would be shut down in two hours.... windows ...blah blah blah. Told them I wasn't interested and hung up. They called back and asked why I hung up. I hung up again. The phone rang again and I told them to leave me alone or I would call the police. They are not calling back thank goodness.
I just received a call from this number saying they were calling from Government Central Grants Dept and that I was selected to receive $8,500. In order to get the money to me, thy would send it Western Union, transfer to a bank or add to a debit or credit card. This is a scam - Do Not give your credit card details. I offered for them to send the money via Western Union and they gave me a number for the accounts funding team; A Washington number which I tried to call but couldn't get through on. I tried calling back the number that called me originally but there was a recorded message saying the number isn't working! Don't give your address, personal information as this is totally a SCAM.
Received a phone call phone 516-285-9894 saying The IRS is fling a lawsuit against me, call 253-693-2009. Quick google search shows that number is a known scam impersonating the IRS.
I received a call from 516-285-9894 on my voicemail at 7:55 AM 4/1/15 stating that the IRS was filing suit against me and I needed to call the phone number provided for further information. I checked my caller ID and they have called me several times.
