Got a call from this number, display said New York so I didn't answer it. Left a voicemail, in a janky computer voice, saying they were the IRS and they were going to be filing a 'lawsuit' against me. And then left a completely different number to return a call to stop the legal process...
I received a message on my answering machine from this number on October 27, 2014, with the person saying they were the IRS and had been trying to reach me. When I tried to call the number back, I got a message that the phone was not in service. My phone also had a readout saying "Payphone". The person had an Indian accent.
Got the same IRS message as everyone else stated above me. Saying they were notifying me of an impending lawsuit against me. They called at 7am this morning.. Which proves it's more of a scam. Even debt collectors will wait to call until 8am.
Computer generated voice with caller ID "Payphone" from 516-285-9894. Left a msg to call them back at 202-618-1948 because they are the IRS, have tried to contact us multiple times and are filing a lawsuit against us.
Ya, RIGHT!!!!! With windows & doors closed, nose plugged, it still smells like a SCAM to me!
