Got a call from this number, display said New York so I didn't answer it. Left a voicemail, in a janky computer voice, saying they were the IRS and they were going to be filing a 'lawsuit' against me. And then left a completely different number to return a call to stop the legal process...
I got this same recorded call from the IRS, stating this is a lawsuit, and this is their last warning. It was 7:00 am, and I wasn't writing the reference number down that was on the recording. I did not believe it, because they weren't asking for ME, just called my cell phone number.
Recorded voice left a message saying I'm being investigated by the IRS and to call back (at a different number: 202 239 1440) for more information on "my case". I'm quite sure that if I was being investigated by the IRS they would contact me via USPS and not an automated call. I'm quite sure I am Not being investigated and that this is some kind of scam. Reported both numbers to DoNotCall.gov
recorded message regarding pending IRS lawsuit/call some 202-239-(whatever) number to find out what and why, third similar call in two days and all telling Me to call a 202 number...same ol', same ol'...will wait for an Official IRS communication via USPS
