i work for a taxi company a man called with a Nigerian accent Sgt walker (really!!! ) with the number 607-595-1862 needed to speak to one of the other employees by name. i explain that she was not available. he them demand that i give him her cell phone in a very angry unprofessional tone ( my husband is a police officer i know how they call and identify themselves that was not a police officer) i explain that would be impossible we do not release any information of our employees to callers. he hung up and then called back tried to ignore his call but he keep calling so i answered i explain to him that it is against the law to call and say that he is a police officer for one and his conversation with me was being recorded i hung up he called back again to cuz me out hung up again. i called the police department and filed a police report with them and i goggles the number and stumbles in to this page. next step report them to ftc.
this same number 607-595-1862 just called my cell looking for my husband ,supposedly he owe a payday loan in Sc from 2010 .The also gave two names my husband used as references Barbara Little and Mark Arnold.We don't even know these people.
Hello - I have also been receiving these phone calls... and when I just hang up do you know they have the nerve to call right back. they claim to be from the United States Legal Department. and that there is a lawsuit filed against me and they want my attorney's information. I told them since you say you have all my information send it directly to me. I also told them that I know this is a scam and that I am going to do a 3-way with the police department and then he started speaking totally in a foreign language... I have received calls from 607-595-1862 (Binghamton, NY) and 760-624-8174 (Calipatria, CA) as well as numerous unkown numbers since November of 2010. I work for the Government and know for a fact that there is no United States Legal Department that does phone collections or notifications of lawsuits or criminal charges. A Sheriff would have been at my door for day one, with, Supeona, warrant and cuffs in hand. I did get one full name Kevin Ramble who I was supposedly transfered to when I said I did not know what he was referring to (very broken English and heavy Indian accents). They continuously called my cell phone and job directly. Just like everyone else who has posted here, my situation is similar where I am told that if I don't comply with them they will "send the cops to my door". I have asked them to tell me more information and they could not supply me with any legitimate information. So I told him I was reporting him and go to Hell then I hung up. This still probably will not work, I have told them on numerous occassion to never call me again.

These people just called me this morning threatning to have me served because of a pay day loan i had deposited in to my account which never happened. I looked over my account info an saw there was no deposits made into my account from the company he was repersenting, he threatened to sue me for 3000 dollars if i did not settle over the phone now. I told him to have me served an i will see him in court with my lawyer an counter sue.
