I got a call from 607 595-1862 NY, leave the massage on my cell, telling me to call him back, cuz I had 3 criminal cases against me, if he didn't hear from me or my attorney all he wish for me is "Good Luck". I am not going to call him or to speak to him, I will save his voice mail and gave it my friend who work as Assistant to DA in California. Sad to say, because I apply to payday loan on line and somehow they got all the inf. I hope somehow we can stop this people.
I have received several calls from this number from a guy who says he is an attorney threating to have me arrested if I did not send money for a debt I know nothing about. Upon review of the comments made on this website, I received legal advise and contacted my local law enforcement agency. If you should receive a call from this number, be very careful and contact the three credit reporting agencies and freeze your credit. This is how they WORK: He gives you supposedly his name (in this case Travis Waters) but request that you send a letter to another name (in this case Mike Robinson). They will request that you go to the local grocery store and obtain a green.dot card and call them back. They will instruct you to write a letter and fax it to them and upon receipt of the letter, if it is in order, they will call you back and give you instructions on how to activitate the card. However, they ask for the card number prior to sending the letter. They HAVE your information and will immediately activate the card BEFORE you send the letter. Thankfully, I was smart enough to tell them I did not have the card in front of me. They said to call them back with the number, which I never did. Anytime you are in doubt, obtain legal advise before dealing with these types of scams.
I received a call from this place as many of you had. They called and left me a voicemail, and it was a man speaking in a very heavy Indian accent. The number they used was this one I'm reporting and (607) 595-0978. He claimed his name was Josh Carpenter and he proceeded to tell me to listen to what he had to say fully and then after I can ask questions.
And questions I did ask, because if it was a payday loan that I indeed not pay, the COMPANY ITSELF would be calling me up wondering why it wasn't paid just yet. I mean I'd understand, because I do infact have a outstanding payday loan, but I would never not pay my debts and I finished just two months back paying them off. I also found it super disrespectful that he had an incredulous tone in his voice when I said I didn't remember not paying back a loan back in 2008.
I was 16 back in 2008. No way I can GET a payday loan let alone have a job to get one.
