I received a call to asking for my mom, she said that was with Honeywell Security and, my 3 year warrenty was expiring. Caught me off guard. She said. "Can you hear me". It was too late. I said. "Yeah". ALERT ALERT...
Local number so I answered it. Some dirtbag who didn't speak very good English said he was from the manufacturer of my alarm system and that it was over three years old. That's where I stopped him and told him to back up, because I missed some of his gibberish and asked for his name again? That's when I was hung up on. Tried several times to call back but I just get a recorded message saying that they are not answering the phone right now and to call back later. Right. By the way, I wouldn't tell anyone you don't personally know over the phone (or in person for that matter) that you do not have an alarm system. Never know what these creeps are up to!
The caller was foreign accent. Verified my name first & last and then hung up when I asked who was calling. It's the holidays so wasn't sure if this was a normal call until the caller immediately hung up.
Middle eastern woman asked me (by name) about a 3 year old alarm. I told her I didn't have one. Stupid on my part. Let's just say I wouldn't advise anyone trying to see how I protect my home.
Received the same call asking about our three year old alarm system and not thinking I said, "We do not have an alarm system." They hung up. It worried me since I realized they may be trying to find out if the house has a security system. I plan to go to my police station to report the number.
