About 30 calls on this thread and I count 12 or about 40 percent that are shill posts telling everyone how "legit" this number is.
This number is most likely part of a larger fraud campaign targeting the customers of large-scale financial institutions.
The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real, is evidence of con artists spamming the site to try to fool people.
This scam is well documented. Simply google it out.
There is a similar pattern to other fake calls. They all claim to be from groups like Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, Fifth Third Bank, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc as well as Credit Unions. All with the same type of postings.
The shill posters go to the anti-scamming sites as part of their criminal MO.
And I've notice the shill poster often use the same turns of phrase. The same type of verbiage telling everyone how "legit" the calls are.
Personally I think the group or groups posting this shillage-spillage are located in either the US or Canada, or perhaps both. They may also be working with scammers outside of North America.
In any event , never give out any personal or financial information to anyone who cold calls you.
