How many times do we have to tell these folks we're on the DNC list and to STOP Calling? They need to be fined and we need to be compensated for our troubles.

4/30 12:06  Don't understand how, but robo message left when phone never rang.  Am I crazy?  Message was the usual lower interest but, as usual, interest on what is not mentioned, threatening this is last chance.  Don't I wish.  I keep hoping, but obviously there is no such thing as last

I have received a call from this number.  I did speak to a person, and they wanted my credit card information.  I am not ignorant.  They are scammers!  BEWARE!

I've posted similar messages regarding other "spam" numbers, and will do so here.

1.  Posting here with "stop calling" or something else does not work.

2.  To have ANY chance of having unwanted calls from a particular company stop, you MUST fill out a complaint form on the DNC website.  (https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2)

2b.  This webpage will also tell you who is allowed to call you, and what to do when a company or group doesn't listen to your wishes.

3.  Keep a log of every number that calls, and the time they call.  I update my notebook every evening, and even created a spreadsheet for particularly persistent numbers.

3b.  Most telemarketers and spam callers record calls for 'quality assurance purposes'.  Most times, this is an automatic function of their phone systems, which means it records a call no matter who starts it, or what is said.  If you don't mind letting loose with some profane language, try cussing out whomever picks up when you want to speak to a real person (I press every number BUT "1").  Then, hang up mid-sentence and wait for them to call back.  Many times, they will simply hit "redial" but the number that show up on your caller ID will NOT be spoofed.  If this happens, congrats!  You can skip to #5 and avoid having to ask a judge for a warrant to obtain your phone records.

4.  If you've tried everything else, and someone STILL continues to call, contact a local attorney (they will be happy to work on contingency once they realize you're going after a potential "big pockets" company.  They can obtain (in most cases, IF you have sufficient hard evidence to justify a warrant) a record from the phone company as to which numbers are calling you.  This log will also tell you the REAL number, not the spoofed number that shows up on Caller ID.  Once you have the real number, you can easily find out the offending company and serve them with court papers.  Any violations of the DNC list that have occurred can result in a $1000 fine PER CALL (which you can also ask for as punitive damages).

Does this take a bit of work?  Yes.  Does it make a difference in the long run?  YES.  Is my advice based on personal experience?  YES.

Happy hunting!  :)
