My caller ID actually said "Lower Interest"! I didn't bother to answer. The best advice if you have caller ID is simply not to answer. If I need to satisfy my curiosity, I write the number down, & Google it. I always end up at a site like this reading how the number is a scam. Then I take the few minutes to report the number to the FCC at the Do Not Call website. Does it do any good? Probably not, but it makes me feel like I've done something to fight back.
I just got this call, I hit one to see if I got a person and I did--when I told her that she had just violated the law since this number is registered with the DNC, she got kind of lippy and I went off on her. She hung up--and I immediately went to the National Do Not Call Registry and filed a formal complaint.
