You would think that after you have written ten letters to the original creditor of your debt, American Express, that they would get the messsage that you have filed for Bankruptcy and that you don't have the abiity to pay your debt back. No rocket science here.
However, I have had the honor and privilege of having not one, not two, but at least ten different collection agencies contact me trying to collect the same amount of money for the same client for only the good Lord knows how long.
What part of I've filed for bankrtupcy, call my lawyer don't they get?
Go ahead, send another 85 collection agencies . . . . it still isn't going to change anything.
Our business is an unfortunate fall out of the foreclosure industry - I have no money. Thanks to individuals who do not feel that paying their bills is an important part of their existence here upon the Earth.
Have they opened up Mars yet for habitation?
some guy named Daniel addressed me by name but I had to press for the company. He told me he was calling from American Express. Which is interesting since I don't have an AMEX card. Definitely a bill collector.
I told him to never call me again and hung up. Call centers in India must have free time on their hands.
If you make less than 80,000 a year, then just file chapter 7 bankruptcy.
There is an incredible increase in bankruptcy filings due to high unemployment and losses in investment income. Bankruptcy is a fresh start. You get to keep one car and one house. After you file bankruptcy, then the banks will be more likely to give you another credit card because you have no debt; of course your limit will be low and your interest rate high, but just pay it off every month. The banks have received 10's of billions of dollars in tax payer money to keep themselves ''above water'' As far as I am concerned they are already paid back for the delinquent credit card debt and mortgages etc that they hold.
I had a call from this number today. They asled for a person, and I said there is no on ehere by that name. They persisted, and I repeated the same. She was EXTREMELY rude.
