I also received a call saying they were looking fro someone with my name and if I knew the person I soul call back. I have done this before and was treated rudely when I asked them to how me proof of debt in writing. They refused and told me I needed to send them money today or they would take me to court. I said would see them in court and hung up. They refused t give me any details and were threatening. I was at work, and they called on my cell.
Automated message stated that they were trying to locate me and gave a case number and the phone number 855-948-4460 but the number that appeared on my phone was 74-266-4027, Belmont, NC. They did not identify where they were calling from in the automated message.
Same thing as everyone else. The first time I received a call from this number they said I owed money to a check cash place. Having never wrote a check to one I found out the company they said I owed money to and they have no record of it. Today I received another one from a investigator. This is a fraud call. Not sure how I can stop it.
They called me at work- and had my birthday and last four digits of my SSN- and called my parents also. Wouldn't tell me what it was about unless I confirmed the birthday and SSN which I would not do. I told them if this was a real law case, they needed to send me a certified written document. They claimed they had (they have not). I told them if they didn't tell me what this was concerning, I'd inform law enforcement. She said she couldn't due to "Obama's privacy law" and to go ahead and report it to whomever I want. So I will. Clearly a scam being worked or they'd follow normal routes. I no outstanding debt collections or legal cases- I keep close tabs on my credit reports, and they are clean, so this isn't a legitimate outstanding debt )which I assume is what they're trying to claim, though they would never admit to why they were calling).
