I also received a call saying they were looking fro someone with my name and if I knew the person I soul call back. I have done this before and was treated rudely when I asked them to how me proof of debt in writing. They refused and told me I needed to send them money today or they would take me to court. I said would see them in court and hung up. They refused t give me any details and were threatening. I was at work, and they called on my cell.
This number has not called me but has called every family member in my husbands family looking for me. How they got there numbers I don't know. How do you stop this?
1. it's a scam do not pay them a dime, ever!
2. They are going by the Patterson group at least for now.
3. You MUST report them to the CFPB, FTC and your attorney general. Do not engage, do not answer, nothing.
4. Tell your husbands family it's a scam, to block the number and to also report it. The more reports the sooner they get shut down.
I am not sure of why they keep calling but, my credit is fine and if they are trying to open up or collect something from 15 years ago, then shame on them.
These clowns are up to their old tricks...this call is an attempt to locate subject (says name) if you know the whereabouts or are said subject please call (gives different number) immediately and reference case number blah, blah, blah. Idiots aren't intelligent enough to pace their scam calls, 5-6 a day real good clue not legit
