I also received a call saying they were looking fro someone with my name and if I knew the person I soul call back. I have done this before and was treated rudely when I asked them to how me proof of debt in writing. They refused and told me I needed to send them money today or they would take me to court. I said would see them in court and hung up. They refused t give me any details and were threatening. I was at work, and they called on my cell.
Received call today. Called number back and outgoing message said I called after hours. Voicemail left on my number gives out first and last name of debtor. Message also advises if you know this person call us back.
Called my cell which I didn't answer because only close family members have my cell number. Voice mail said they were trying to contact a Michael (couldn't understand last name), that it was very important and to have him contact them right away. No Michael here, I'm sure it is just another scam. I don't answer either my cell or landline phone anymore. 90% of the calls are unwanted callers so if the call is important leave a message. Most scams don't leave a message.
They called one of my moms ex boyfriends looking for me and I called them back same m.o. They were investigators and were contacting me for a bad check at a cash advance place. First off I have no checking account they could not provide me with any info on where the check was from or the dates or the bank it was wrote on. So I informed them that I was an sheriffs officer investigator to from Belmont NC and I would just come down there personally and settle the matter before sending any money. I was kidding but the number has been off the hook everytime I called like ten times a day for almost a week now lol. Still haven't heard from them yet but I do look forward to playing along in the future lol
