Well, even after I posted last I continued to receive phone calls from this company. Vented on the registry, actually had these guys call me at past 8 in the evening one time. I did find out that the company I got my home loan with had released my personal information and if I wanted my personal information kept to myself then I had to call a phone number to get taken off the list. They don't tell you this until 6 months after the fact and hundreds of harassing phone calls later! Since I removed my personal information from any lists (that I know of at the moment), I have not received a call from the Mortgage Inv again. It's still a bunch of bull that I have to spell it out that I want my private info kept as that, private.
hAD MY # CHANGED BECAUSE OF ANNOYING CALLS AND i WAS ON DO NOT CALL LIST. oPTED FOR UNPUBLISHED tELE#. tHREE DAYS LATER tHIS # CALLED ME 10 TIMES IN 2 DAYS. a MAN ASKED FOR SOMEONE THAT WAS NOT ME. hE THEN ASKED IF I OR ANYONE IN THE HOUSE WAS A VETERAN. wHEN I ASHED HIM HOW HE GOT MY # THAT IT WAS UNPUBLISHED HE HING UP.
This company called us about 8 months ago, telling us we could get a 5% VA fixed loan for 30 years if we chose to re-fi with them. We have a 6% fixed VA loan now, but agreed to let a loan officer come by. He told us that we had 'just missed' the offer we were quoted on the phone, but that he could get us 5.5% for 3 years which would turn into an adjustable rate loan thereafter.
Their closing costs were well over the standard 3% closing costs and they told us we could just add those costs back into our loan. Right, we had paid our loan down quite a bit in 2 years, and after rolling the closing costs back into the new loan, we would have been borrowing over what we had originally bought our house for.
Needless to say, we declined the offer. 6 months later I got another call from them asking me if I would be willing to have another officer come to my house because now they were offering an even lower rate. I informed her quite angrily that I was aware of their bait and switch scam and told her their closing costs were unreasonable. All she could say was that they could roll the closing costs back into the loan. I asked if she could lower those costs and she had no answer. I asked her never to call again.
They have continued to call and while we do not answer every call, we have told them a total of 5 times to stop calling us. The fifth time was tonight. I told her to please remove us from their list for the 5th time!
They keep calling our house also... for at least 3 months.. They say that they can lower my VA home loan to 4.5% and that they are supported by Veteran Affairs.. all they need is to come to our house for 15 minutes to come talk to us.. we were just picking up and hanging up on them.. so I answered yesterday and asked them to stop calling but I got a call today and asked to same thing.. i just put my numbers on the national do not call registry at donotcall.gov .. we will see what happens.
