Recieved debt collection calls daily. Explained that I wasn't associated with the debtor company and was not myself the debtor. Demanded removal from call list. Ineffective, contined (but now declined to answer) daily calls.
I get calls all day and night from several numbers ; 801-432-2901, 801-432-2935,801-432-2946 and some 800 #'s they usually call from 800 # then the 801 numbers. These started about 3 months ago. I have one bill that had went unpaid due to a loss of a job. I tried to make arrangements but the Major home repair store, would not work with me on payment arrangements.( What I could pay was not enough for them). So they sent me to collections about 2 years ago. Once in collections, I disputed the bill as the bill was a lot higher than my records, so I asked that the collection agencies prove I owed the bill, with the 30 day time frame allowed to dispute the charges. However, they did not send me proof I owed the bill, so they sold it to another collection agency, who 60 days later sent me a collection notice. I again disputed the bill and asked for them to prove I owed the bill, they in turn did not send me proof and sent it yet to another collection agency. Who I guess sent it to these people. I have not received anything in writing from Bennet Law Office, so I can send my request for proof that I owe the debt to them. They just keep calling, and sometimes leaves a message, but others just hang up. I tried to answer one time and I was put on hold forever- with no assistance.
How many times can you dispute the bill, and they sell it to another company? Any Ideas? I thought once it was disputed and the collection company did nothing- they could not keep passing it around.
Any help on how to deal with these people would be appreciated.
Getting calls from 432-2935...recording saying "if this is Valerie...if not return call so my number can be eliminated from list." I have called this twice in an attempt to get it resolved....there no valerie at my residence nor does ANY of my family know a "valierie". Very irritating.
Got phone call and voice message(once) from this number. Not sure what do they want. No mailed document, don't recall any debt... Asumming they are not legal collectors.
