I got a missed call on my cell phone from this number today. I didn't know who it was so I decided to search for the number online. After reading some of postings above, I think I figured it out. I bought a new phone from T-Mobile yesterday and I was told that I may be contacted by their office for a customer service survey. It is supposed to be something that they do randomly to ensure that their sales associates are doing their best.
They called my in-laws home phone yesterday (Saturday). Said she was from Washington Mutual asking for my husband, it was regarding a mortgage. We don't live there,(we live 150 miles away from them) my husband hasn't lived with his parents for 30 years. We don't have a mortgage with them, and there is no Washington Mutual anymore, it's Chase. They said it was an Asian sounding woman, and hard to understand her.
Caller asked for my husband settled for me then stared to ask if I hace ever visited a washington mutual I asked if he meant today or ever? this threw him off somehow and he could no longer hear me, same number as previous phone service calls moving onto banks now! watch out!
Called four times in two hours and hung up on my answering machine. I called Western Watts Data at 801-373-7735 (press 2 for "do not call list") and left a message. But five minutes later I got another call from this number, and this time I picked up. The woman on the line she was doing a survey for JPMorganChase Bank. There was a mechanical digitized quality to her voice, but it was a real person and I told her to take me off their call list immediately or I would file a complaint against Western Watts, and call JPMorganChase to report them. Not sure if this will do any good....but it's worth a try leaving a message on their do not call line.
I've gotten two calls from this number in the past week. I saw 801-823-2020 on the caller id and waited to hear what he/she might say. Usually, no one calling from such numbers leaves a message. Both times, however, a message was left. The person asked for me, by name, and said that they were calling on behalf of Washington Mutual Bank. Washington Mutual is now Chase, so I was suspicious. Reading the other posts, this looks likes it's a company doing surveys, or gathering some kind of info. Our phone number is registered with the Do Not Call list, and we've "opted out" of getting inquiries from any credit card, phone, etc. etc. company about anything!
