Received call from this number at 8:55 PM tonight. Same MO as described above. Doubt is was a Collection Agency. I have no outstanding debts. More likely somw scam who didn't like the sound of my voice -- not old and feeble enoughto qualify as a potential victim.
Have been receiving calls from 901-458-2010 displaying the name NAMI for about a month. Calls multiple times a week from as early as 8am until 9pm. Blocked my telephone number and called back immediately one day, strangely it sounded like digits were being automatically recorded then then the call was disconnected.
We received several calls from this number. I have experienced all of the above but one time somebody did actually ask me if I had any clothing to donate because they were going to be picking up in my area. I said no but, two days later I saw an unmarked truck picking clothing from the house across the street. Coincidence, maybe, but the timing is kind of uncanny. I have not yet had a chance to ask my neighbor about it. These folks are very aggravating though. They are probably calling several numbers at once so they can get more calls per hour. When two people answer at the same time one of them obviously gets hung up on or ignored.
I have recieved many calls from this number. They don't leave a message or respond when I answer the phone. This is becoming very annoying. I wish there was some way to stop them.
The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) calls me regularly for clothing and other household donations. They are a legitimate operation...they are not a collections agency. They send a truck around and pick up donated items to take back to the thrift store. I thought since I donate, occasionally, that that was the reason they were calling so often. If it is that annoying, why don't you "call block" that number?
