I just got the same message from this number & they knew my name i called my cell phone carrier & had them block the number because the message said they were my cell phone carrier & when i called them they said they didnt call
Too all those "I've Never Been Late on a Payment in My Life" - well if that's true you're 17 years old - the rest of us have made mistakes. Everyone.
Anyway - as mentioned - somewhere they have your number. It's not spam. It's not harassment. If you want it to stop, answer it, get the phone number for it and figure it out. It's probably you. If not, it's a family member or someone you know. Why so defensive to answer it and resolve it?
OKAY HERE IS THE FULL DEAL... I have been looking into this and calling around.
It's "Verizon" mind you (I don't have verizon nor did I ever). They ask for X name of someone I don't even know. i wait on the line to speak to a representative. I explain I keep getting phone calls from this number, asking for different names, and I don't even have Verizon. they ask for my number, say "Well I don't see the number in our system, there's nothing we can do" I explain that the previous representative said the same thing, but something has to be done. They refuse to help, saying they can't do anything at all.
I call MY phone company. They tell me it's unfortunate but they can't do anything, either. I don't blame my company at all. But the woman I just spoke to said if they say that again, ask them to look up a "can be reached" number and ask if it's on there.
I am sick and tired of these calls!!!!!!!!! Verizon is completely unhelpful.
It's Mary again... I just got off the phone with Verizon for the third time.. The woman on the phone took the 1-910-378-4174 AND my phone number down, talked to the supervisor... they both can't figure out what to do. If my number is not in the system, they have no idea who is calling me. She said it's not a Verizon number because they would have access to my phone number in the system, BUT IT DIRECTS TO THEM.. AT VERIZON. She felt bad, I feel bad, I'm going nuts over here..
So maybe it's some sort of elaborate scam? I have no idea. I will contact different numbers for Verizon and annoy them as much as I can to get this resolved. This is like harassment. And thanks to everything being automated you don't even get to speak to a real person until it's too late and you've been transferred.
This number has been calling me for the past 2 days. Online it appears that it has been happening to other people and that this is a scam to collect money not really due on your credit card account. I don't know the name of the company calling, and so far I haven't answered the phone.
