I just got the same message from this number & they knew my name i called my cell phone carrier & had them block the number because the message said they were my cell phone carrier & when i called them they said they didnt call
Its verizon's third party collections agency... I got a call from them yesterday morning.. I authorized them to charge my card for the past due amount.. and today the charges where applied to my bill and are up to date.. The local VZW store told me its not verizon calling, but a company they hire to collect their past dues...
it is a collection from verizon. you must be late on your bill, for me it was for my verizon cell phone bill. i just hang up then pay my bill for my phone by dialing #pmt on my cell phone.
It is NOT verizon! I just called verizon who verified IT IS NOT THEIR NUMBER and that it is a scam. They even put a block on that number to prevent them from calling me. Thanks Verizon.
It is Verizon Wireless not a scam. If you answer the call and confirm your identity they will tell you your exact overdue balance, the amount you last paid, and the date of the last payment. It was all true. So i do not believe it was a scam. Just to be safe though, I hung up the phone and paid my bill via my bank's online bill pay service.
Verizon has called me from all kinds of different numbers in the past. They come up as real phone numbers and not as toll-free numbers, but not always the same number. I am used to it now. we have been having trouble keeping up with our bills off and on for a while now.
