I used to have the same problem. The best way is when you cancel a CC or other revolving debt do the following: 1 - Write them a letter requesting thhat the mark the account closed by consumer & send you a letter stating so. 2 - after 90 days, run all of your your credit reports to make sure. If it is not on there then you have a letter from the creditor stating it was closed to use to get the debt taken off your credit report or to give to an attorney to combat these telemarketers.
