Have been calling several times a day for over a month. They are trying to solicit payment history information for our customer to build their "payment history" database.
They make it seem like an urgent matter with a case number asking us to resolve this important matter for our customer. The number they leave to call back just rings with no answer. 866-658-3140
I called the 973-929-3290 number and told them what happened with the other number, that we do not give out that kind of information about our customers, and to please stop calling. They pretend not to know anything about it then transfer me back to the unanswered 866 number. I did get put through to someone's voice mail after calling the 973 number back after they put me through to the unanswered 866 number. I again asked them to stop calling, that we do not give out that information, and that we are seriously annoyed at the interruptions and wasted time and resources. They called again after that in the afternoon. Complaint filed with FTC and will never do business with D&B or its affiliates again.
Hi,
I don't know if it's D&B, but I have very strong doubts. Why would D&B call Australia from USA when we have our local outpost that deals with Australian market? Why would they call to a phone number for a phone recently stolen in Kenya? Why wouldn't they leave a nessage (the service is cancelled and redirected, so it turns on a voice mail after the second ring)? Why would a search for this number come up with a legit telco company (http://www.numberinvestigator.com/phone/973-929-3290.html)? When you check the company, they actually have very different numbers. Regardless who they are, it would be very stupid to give them any kind of info - you don't really know who is on the other end of this line, regardless of how they introduce themselves.
I've received 3 messages over the last 2 days which I refuse to respond to because the message doesn't say what she wants, only that she's from D&B. We have an updated profile, so no way am I calling the person back. I think she just wants to sell us services we don't need.
This number called me this morning.
Dun and Bradstreet is no longer relevant in today's world.
20 years ago my accountant at the time warned me off them.
Nothing but money spent with no real return.
45 years ago, my dad signed up with them and it was nothing but a hassle.
There are better things a small business can spend their money on besides an aging dinosaur like D&B.
Keep your money in hand - pay off your debt and pay your suppliers.
Honest hard work pays you more in the long term.
(IMO)
This number called this morning. Since I didn't recognize it, I let it go to voicemail.
I did, however, submit a request yesterday for a DUNS number for my new business (you have to have one to open an Apple Developer account for a business), and while the voicemail the woman left was largely garbled and unintelligible (she was in a very noisy call center), I could make out my name, my new company's name, and the name Dun & Bradstreet.
Smells legit to me. We'll see what they say when they call back.
