Have been calling several times a day for over a month. They are trying to solicit payment history information for our customer to build their "payment history" database.
They make it seem like an urgent matter with a case number asking us to resolve this important matter for our customer. The number they leave to call back just rings with no answer. 866-658-3140
I called the 973-929-3290 number and told them what happened with the other number, that we do not give out that kind of information about our customers, and to please stop calling. They pretend not to know anything about it then transfer me back to the unanswered 866 number. I did get put through to someone's voice mail after calling the 973 number back after they put me through to the unanswered 866 number. I again asked them to stop calling, that we do not give out that information, and that we are seriously annoyed at the interruptions and wasted time and resources. They called again after that in the afternoon. Complaint filed with FTC and will never do business with D&B or its affiliates again.
I got a call from a company called Dun and Bradstreet or something like that. Never heard of them. They claimed to be calling for a business and we are a residence only. She was very rude. Told me to get a "LIFE" We are on the Do not call list.
called our business trying to get us to buy some improvement kit to better our credit rating. Would not meet us in person, but rather insisted on getting our credit card number over the phone to purchase their products. very upset if they really are Dun & Bradstreet like they claimed. Her name was Ruthie.
Just got off the phone with a Christina claiming to be from D & B Credit Bureau. We spoke about my business credit reports and how they can be improved. I always thought it could be improved by paying my bills quicker. She informed me that for $ 495 she can subscribe me to two reports that will automatically improve my business credit ratings. Asked for my CC # to get things started. Is this a scam ?
Gave a number of 800-234-3867 to call back if i changed my mind.
Of course it is a scam. No legitimate company will ask you for any personal or financial information over the phone. A legitimate business would not give out there confidential information, so they wouldn't ask you to do the same.
If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck..............
