Have been calling several times a day for over a month. They are trying to solicit payment history information for our customer to build their "payment history" database.
They make it seem like an urgent matter with a case number asking us to resolve this important matter for our customer. The number they leave to call back just rings with no answer. 866-658-3140
I called the 973-929-3290 number and told them what happened with the other number, that we do not give out that kind of information about our customers, and to please stop calling. They pretend not to know anything about it then transfer me back to the unanswered 866 number. I did get put through to someone's voice mail after calling the 973 number back after they put me through to the unanswered 866 number. I again asked them to stop calling, that we do not give out that information, and that we are seriously annoyed at the interruptions and wasted time and resources. They called again after that in the afternoon. Complaint filed with FTC and will never do business with D&B or its affiliates again.
Just got a call on my cell from this number. This individual with a strong accent was from (allegedly) Dunn and Bradstreet wanting to confirm whether this was a business or personal phone, and that they are wanting this information for a national database. Totally stupid. I acted completely dumb, and kept them on the line for as long as I could (I was driving). At least if they are talking to me then they are not scamming someone else.
Dun & Bradstreet has been calling every morning since last week. Occasionally, they phone for days on end. A gentleman in our Controlling division instructed that they should be sent to him, so this morning I finally asked their agent the purpose of her inquiry and whether she’d spoken with anyone. She needed to talk to the Credit Dept about one of our business customers but hadn’t been able to. I recommended that she leave a voicemail and then I’d follow up. She said anyone at 866-658-3140 could assist our representative who referenced a specific number. I emailed the credit supervisor, who said he’d reach out to them.
By the way: 1) Caller ID read 973-929-3290; both that and 866- led back to D&B when I Googled them. 2) “Dun” is spelled with one “n”; you can Google that, too. However, I have no reason to defend them, based on my personal experience with them. Many years ago, a D&B rep knocked on the door of the small business where I worked at the time, looking for corporate information. I advised him that I wasn’t in a position to confirm anything and to put his request in writing. His rude, pushy attitude was fortunately witnessed by the president’s assistant, because his response was to send a report that stated I was the company spokesperson! I almost went through the roof. The president smiled knowingly and said, “I’ll take care of him,” then called and chewed him out.
If that is true why would you even care? You must REALLY love their services if you go on to "who's calling me websites" legitimizing them. Truth is, you are one of their trolls. Only a complete idiot would believe your b/s story...
This number called me today.. The caller ID was for Dun & Brad Street.. There was no one on the line responding to my hello.. I spoke and told them to never dial my number again.. I am so tired of prank calls and Google messages.. I do use Comcast and if they are involved, as someone else stated, there is alot of scamming and privacy invasion going on.. I am tired of being the victim.. We need to stop them..
