So I have an account on care.com for dog walking service and got a text message from this number asking met to email her sister who is looking for a dog walker. I emailed and got a response that was very detailed and basically saying they wanted to hire me to walk there two dogs when they moved to this area. They would send a cashier check ahead of time as the dogs might get there before they do and so on.... Well I'm thankfully aware of scams like this and hope this helps someone make the decision that it's to good to be true and they are scamming you for money. Even if your bank accepts the check about 7 days later it will deny it and your bank account can be negative by thousands of dollars. They will try everything to get you to send them money as fast as possible because of this. Be aware! You work hard for your money, don't let people do this to you!!!
If I had a dollar for every crap / scam call I get on my cell, I would be living in the Bahamas right now. I registered both of my numbers - my land line and my cell number on the DNC government website, but I still get these bogus calls. Like roaches coming out of a crack in the wall, I see no end to it. The small consolation is that I always block the numbers on my cell immediately. I swear if I really bothered to take the time to report and/or log them all on the DNC government website I would; but unfortunately, they somehow just get new numbers to replace the old ones and continue calling. I am not sure how they are doing that and getting away with it. Too bad they can't put that kind of energy and persistence into doing something positive instead of trying to rip people off.
Call came from 201 374 8004. Have had several calls in the last few weeks. Both male & female callers, with heavy Indian accents. Claimed that my computer was downloading destructive software and wanted to assist me in correcting the problem. Scam of course.
Glad I came here. 2 calls in the past three days. First left an automated good bye message on my machine. The second had a very quiet Indian/Arabic man saying hello to the machine. Another number to report to the DNCL.
