So I have an account on care.com for dog walking service and got a text message from this number asking met to email her sister who is looking for a dog walker. I emailed and got a response that was very detailed and basically saying they wanted to hire me to walk there two dogs when they moved to this area. They would send a cashier check ahead of time as the dogs might get there before they do and so on.... Well I'm thankfully aware of scams like this and hope this helps someone make the decision that it's to good to be true and they are scamming you for money. Even if your bank accepts the check about 7 days later it will deny it and your bank account can be negative by thousands of dollars. They will try everything to get you to send them money as fast as possible because of this. Be aware! You work hard for your money, don't let people do this to you!!!
Thanks 800 notes. Didn't answer and they didn't talk to the A M. Really, do these people think the public is that uninformed! Think we are past believing this BS.
The Technical Dept called to say Windows Security Updates are being declined, they (Microsoft?) gave them a warning notification. Said Hackers have accessed our computer. Needed to verify our IP address and Customer License #. Turned me over to a Microsoft 35 Certified Technician, Jason Smith. Asked if he knew our IP address he said yes and said he also had our License#, but needed to confirm them by me reading him the #s off our computer. Wanted me to start by pressing Microsoft Key + R. Told him my husband would need to call him back. Gave me 1-800-604-9149 and spelled the company name "Expert Support." Both men said they were in Nashville TN and had what I thought to be very heavy Indian accents. I've rec'd this type of call B4, just wanted to see what they had to say. Our computer is perfectly fine.
