So I have an account on care.com for dog walking service and got a text message from this number asking met to email her sister who is looking for a dog walker. I emailed and got a response that was very detailed and basically saying they wanted to hire me to walk there two dogs when they moved to this area. They would send a cashier check ahead of time as the dogs might get there before they do and so on.... Well I'm thankfully aware of scams like this and hope this helps someone make the decision that it's to good to be true and they are scamming you for money. Even if your bank accepts the check about 7 days later it will deny it and your bank account can be negative by thousands of dollars. They will try everything to get you to send them money as fast as possible because of this. Be aware! You work hard for your money, don't let people do this to you!!!
Same circumstances as everyone else. The first caller set me up and then handed me off to his "Supervisor". I eventually hung up on him but not before I called him every name in the book. I agree with the other person who said these scum get paid, at least partially, by the amount of time they're on the phone with someone. I called this guy every name in the book and threw every swear word I knew at him and he kept rattling on. Any normal person would have hung up. He didn't.
Just got a call - Nov 6/15 - sounds similar to many of the previous comments - very heavy Indian accent - and definitely suggesting my computer is at risk - I didn't catch whether she said it was microsoft or not - but listened a bit to hear what was up today .. then I just hung up.
got a call on my cell stating they could see I was online and that someone was trying to hack into my computer. Funny thing is that a. it was 6:30 in the morning and I was not on the computer, b. they were leaving a message as if they were talking with me and my cell was on sleep mode and c. they are full of crap. But the good news? I simply have to give them the IP address and a few more pieces of info and they can handle the problem for me immediately! Whew I am so relieved! Not!
