Called asking for the old CEO who left over 10 years ago. He was "surprised" to hear that. Then asked for the new CEO. I asked what the call was about and he just told me he used to do business with the old CEO and he wanted to chat with the new one. There is no way I would transfer with that information so I sent him to a voicemail. He hung up before the call completed.
Male called and I accidentally answered (thought I hit Ignore-send to voicemail).
Hi, I am .. blah blah blah .. and I work for a collection agency.
Ok?! How can I help you? (thinking maybe my ex- or someone put me as a contact)
Well for this call, I'd like to just provide you my quotes.
Um,, you called a government agency. Please take me off your list.
No, I will not do that ..
so .. I hung up ..
Dumb telemarketing call from a Collection Agency offering your business their services. They act rude and demanding and then claim it's an audition of sorts and you should be impressed with how they get the job done. They have absolutely no clue how to conduct business and no business person is going to accept or appreciate calls like this.
Steve called from Tucker asking for the owner of our company by name. I asked what the call was regarding and he said angrily - are you getting mouthy with me? I said no - what's the call regarding and "Steve" said - fine I'll just go with someone else and I hung up on him. I could hear other people talking on phones in the background.
Called and asked for someone who left the company years ago. I tried to get more info because I figured it was a sales call or a scam. Said he was with Tucker Albin & Assoc. and it was in regard to money that was owed to our company. Refused to tell me who owed the money. Would not give any more information, kept asking for the person who isn't here. We do all our collections in house so this was definitely a scam.
Cocky guy ask for the owner by name. I asked him who was calling. He gave me his name and then said "he knows who I am and he'll take my call". I then ask him who he was with and all he said was Tucker. First of all, if the owner knows you and will take your call, then how about call the correct office. I put him on hold for a minute then went back to him and told him the owner was not available to take his call. He said he would call back. Sure hope he does. I would like to mess around with him and see just how far I can push HIM for a change.
