Called asking for the old CEO who left over 10 years ago. He was "surprised" to hear that. Then asked for the new CEO. I asked what the call was about and he just told me he used to do business with the old CEO and he wanted to chat with the new one. There is no way I would transfer with that information so I sent him to a voicemail. He hung up before the call completed.
Just got a call from this number. He asked for the owner by name. When I told him that the boss was unavailable he snapped "Well, then I will just send him an email. This is a debt collection service for businesses.
This joker called asking for one of our VP's by name. I said he was unavailable, he wanted to know where he was at. I said out of the office. He said he would connect another way. Was VERY rude.
Claims to be a collections company from Richardson, TX, yet Caller ID said "Jersey City, NJ." When I answered phone, no one said anything. Then i call back and get the automated voice saying they are a collections business in TX. Most likely another scam, told woman I got on line to remove us from their list.
Got a phone call today from this number. I cannot remember his name. This was definitely not the first time they have called. Talk about calling us several times within a week span. He asked for the company owner by name, when I asked what it was regarding (knowing full well what he was going to say next), he said he has a note to call said owner. When I called him out on being a scam artist and that we don't deal with anyone in New Jersey he got flustered and said that was his cell phone number. I then said that my boss has never called you, and since we are a smaller company I know everyone that my boss calls. He then said I was rude! Honestly I am the one being rude??? He then continued to tell me to have a good day and hung up.
I just had a similar incident Lauren. A man who called himself Joe Shafer with Tucker asked for my boss by his first name and told me that my boss was expecting his call "thank you". Every thing was finished with a curt 'thank you', "Just put me through to him, he knows me, thank you". And there was a lot of static on the line (conveniently) when I was trying to get more info from him. I know all of the people/companies that my boss (the owner) is dealing with and this guy was definitely not anybody we know. We are a small family owned company. I always go online to look up these scammers and sure enough, this "Tucker" bunch is on here!
