I also got a call saying he was DEA agent Garcia. He ruffles through papers sounded fake . HE told me to take it serious. It told him to call my lawyer and that he ws unprofessional
I received several phone calls from the same number today by a man claiming to be D.E.A. Agent Nick Delgatto. He said I had ordered controlled drugs by phone on several occasions. He mentioned several drugs, none of which I had ordered. He instructed me to go to a local CVS store and send a money gram, in the amount of $1,000, within the next hour. This immediately made me suspect there was something amiss. In December of 2010, I did, however, get a call from the fraud department of one of my credit card companies informing me that there were three or four charges for prescription drugs which I never ordered, all companies based oversees. They advised me to refuse delivery which I did. I subsequently had to cancel that particular credit card and was issued a new one. It's amazing how this man got my name and phone number. I only hope he gets caught soon!!!
I got the very same phone call today from Nick Delgado. After realizing this was a scam, I immediately hung up and changed my phone number. I am making everyone aware of this scam. Needless to say at first I was frighten to death. Be aware.
i just off the phone with this guy Nick Delgado, I was sick and thought I was going to throw up! He had me so upset... wanted me to go to the CVS and send $535.00. Nick said he was with the DEA, he was getting ugle with me, I pretended to cry and get very upset... I knew something was not right. Shame on this Nick guy!
He told me they confiscated drugs at US customs and my name was on the packages. I told him no way was this mine. He preceded to say that I would have to appear in court and they could search my home and that I needed to cooperate in this on going investigation. He said I could appear in court this week or I could pay a fine/dismissal code of $1,200. I was like what the hell? I put him on hold to call my husband and told him the story. My husband told me to hang up it was most likely a scam. The so called "Nick Delgado" had the nerve to call me back stating that I hung up on him and that he couldn't believe I believe I blew him off and that he had no other choice to turn it over to the District Attorney. How many women has he intimidated and they actually paid. This just sickens me. DEA website does have a warning about this caller.
I got this call yesterday " Good afternoon my name is agent Nick Delgado, calling on behalf of the DEA, drug enforcement administration calling out of Washington, DC field office. I am calling because your name came up in relation to ongoing investigation. Several packages containing illegal prescription medications were intercepted by US Customs. One of these packages were addressed to you. Now what I really need from you, is for you to answer some questions to help me get to the bottom of it. You can reach me at 202-239-5571 and ask for agent Nick Delgotto."
I want to know how in the world they got my name and number. Do I really have to change my phone number? I better go review my credit card numbers .... how do we stop this scam?
