Got a call 202-864-1255. The caller introduced herself as an IRS investigation officer and wanted to get some information related to fraud. After I asked her to mail me the issue and do not discuss my personal information over the phone, the caller hanged up. This is scam. IRS never calls and discuss fraud over the phone. Be aware.
Said IRS was filing lawsuit against my wife but failed to provide any details. Could hear other calls in backgound. IRS only notifies via email, not phone. Challenged him about this and the term "lawsuit", as the IRS would either proceed with an audit or judgment, but would not file a civil case. Caller kept saying same phrase over and over. Beware, not legit.
