Received a call today from this number also. Also sounded like a middle-eastern man on a fuzzy line. Asked for a person who, as far as I know, has never had our phone number (although we've received wrong calls for her in the past).
They called out of the blue to tell me I had been awarded a $7,000 government grant that I never applied for. What a crock! Do these people think all Americans are stupid?
Telling me Federal Marshall's are coming to arrest me at my Post Office box. I am thinking they are of east indian decent. They are telling me the federal government is involved as well as the police department. They keep calling me at my place of employment which incedently is a federal facility. They won't specify the company and when I tell them I looked their number up on the internet and tell them they are fraudulant, they hang up.
Do not hit the 9 to "speak to a live representative" thinking you can ask to be on the DNC list. Instead, it tells them they have reached a working number and you just might actually need help with credit cards, thus would be a good scam target.
Now this number is used for discount card for fundraisers for public schools. Not sure if it is legit but I want no part of it. If you try and call the number back it says it's disconnected. That tells me enough there.
