RS does not file lawsuits. Tax disputes are civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and all contacts are initiated by US mail.
Received the same call that it was the IRS and they were filing a lawsuit against me and for me to contact them at 206-973-3241. I did a reverse look up of the phone number and it is supposedly located in Seattle, WA. SCAM all the way!!!
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
Initial call on caller I.D. read 451-607-9888. This number had been calling for a couple of weeks and I would not pick up. This morning was different. They left a VM stating what the above reporters have stated. "The IRS is filing law suit against you...call this #206-973-3241. What tipped me off was the fact that the recording said "filing law suit" instead of "filing A law suit". It was grammatically incorrect and a common mistake made by those of whom aren't familiar with the English language. This is a scam so please warn those you come in contact with. I hope they catch this low life soon!
