How do you report them - just got a call from them - got a business name and mailing address in SC, even though the number was a TX number. Said I owe a payday loan. They are wrong!
rcvd a voicemail with my name in it by automatic voicemail- stating there had been faxed order about a complaint against me. states they have they right to serve me at my home or place of employment. if I wanted to resolve this matter to call them back at this number
I requested documentaion of yhe so called loan I supposedly recieved several years ago. They said the call alone was a legal notice. Refused to send papers. Mentioned by law they are obligated to provide me the information. They eanted to me to make an agreement to pay before sending the info. Told them a needed it in written to have an attorny review. They then said well my attorny has to request the information. Said the deal was off the tabke and they will continue to pursue me. I was tuen hung up on. How do I get them to stop calling me. They are calling my cell, home and now work number. I fear getting in trouble at work because of them. This is harrassment. Any suggestions on what I can do?
I never answer calls from debt collectors. As soon as they get a hold of you ONE TIME, the harrassment begins and they update your credit report. They also update SKIP TRACE which is a system that provides other debt collectors your good contact info! DO NOT ANSWER CALLS FROM UNKNOWN NUMBERS, that's how they get you. Tell your work receptionist to tell them you do not work there and to not call again. That should stop them from calling work. Stop answering your home and cell, after awhile they will give up.
Same experience here! What a drag!! They actually called me at my work #. Somehow they are able to tie up multiple lines. Thankfully, my boss was cool about it and even got on the phone and threatened him if he kept harassing me at work.
