Nov. 19 Caller asked for me by name and then if I am a senior. Thick Indian accent I told him I couldn't understand what he was saying. Then he said he was going to send me a new Medicare card. Verified my address. When he asked me for banking info, I told him I wouldn't give that over the phone and I hung up.
Guy with Indian or Middle Eastern accent called my elderly mother claiming to be from the National Medical Office. He knew her address and knew where she banked, saying he wanted to "confirm" her banking information so Medicare could send her a new card and she could continue to receive her Medicare payments. When I took the phone and demanded to know who he was, he gave me fake info ("James Clinton" employee ID "10627" from Brooklyn, NY). The return number he gave me was 986-527-9115 (986 is not an area code in the US). He was asking for her bank account numbers and when I told him I was going to report him to the FBI (I have) he yelled that he was "canceling your mother's Medicare!"
These calls originate in Beaumont, TX per my caller ID.
