Unfortunately charities are allowed under the DNCR. Because of this I believe people have set up fake organizations in a effort to get around the DNCR so the can trick people into donating.
"Breast Cancer S" appeared on the caller ID. They identified themselves as "AC" something or other (didn't say what it stood for) went into some pitch asking for donations, but I was already running late to a doctor's appointment, so I asked for their number. They wouldn't give it to me! Sketchy people like this are an insult to those who have actually experienced the suffering of breast (or any type of) cancer, their family, and their friends.
I just received a call from (413 ) 241-3302. Caller ID read Breast Cancer Society.
I have an Avaya commercial telephone system at home. Predictive Dialer Systems do not know how to handle auto attendants....so the call never made it to the desk phones. I monitored the call via the system's Call Screening function. Not a sound from the caller....just a disconnect.
ring shouldn't sound different as it's generated by the voltage to ring YOUR phone...the ring in your phone is the ring you will hear...it has nothing to do with where it's coming from....hope that clears it up for you.. from a telephone technician...
