Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
I just received the same phone call asking to call back to 415 251 6983. The call was claiming to be from the IRS. What makes it more suspicious is that they are leaving phone message on Labor Day. These must be stupid and ignorant non-US people trying to collect money.
I argued with the guy "Officer Robert Catrell," because it was fun as an obvious scam. He said the police were coming to arrest me and would be at my door in less than two hours. I told him i would be here waiting, since it is Labor Day. I told him i would call him back in 2 hours if the police had not shown up, yet, since I didn't really want to waste my day waiting for them. Two hours later, I called him back to pester him some. He gave me two fake addresses for where he was located and hung up on me several times. I blocked my number with *67 and kept on calling him. He kept answering and I was having a blast harassing the hell out of him. I've called him 25 times now and the idiot keeps taking my call, because he can't figure out how to block it as a masked number. I finally got him to admit the scam and he asked me why I keep calling and harassing him. I told him, "because you keep answering! I figured I would ruin your afternoon for scamming people, since I can't do anything else to stop you. every minute you spend on the phone with me is one less victim you can call today. And I'll keep on calling you, day, day out, until. you have to shutoff this phone number to get away from me! Bwahahahah!"
