Same thing--Julie Smith thick Indian accent stated my husband had a warrant for his arrest and we had to act in a timely manner or they would lock up all of our bank accounts joint accounts etc. Sounded strange, did a google search for the telephone number and sure enough, it's a scam. We are going to report this.
It was Deputy Julie Smith from the IRS that called my phone. She asked for no one by name, and said it was a time sensitive issue. I was told to call her "personal hotline number" or action would be taken against me. Funny there was no case number or reference number or anything. She called back and left another message an hour and a half later, telling me I really needed to call back or action was going to be taken. The call ends with her telling me to Take Care. Ha ha it is obvious they have never talked to anyone at the IRS. Yea I will not be calling her back.
