Just received a recorded message from the "IRS" about a pending court case. No mention of my name, state, or what it
was about. I was suppose to call the local courthouse and call the number 425-298-9553. I did neither. I got on google
and checked on the number. I found this site and was glad it was nothing but a scam. Seems like they like to call on a
holiday, it is Halloween today. Sick people!
To follow up. Now that I know it is a scam. I keep calling the number over and over leaving message after message after message. In an effort to fill up their message box. Ray......Ray.... I am calling you. Please pick up the phone. Please come and arrest my wife !!! Ray.......Ray......
We continue to get these messages that they are going to show up at our home or to have security available at our place of employment to receive the lawsuit. I finally picked up the call and they proceeded with their scam and I laughed at the guy. He said this is not a laughing matter. I said yes it is. I told him that he picked the wrong person to call that day. I work with matters everyday dealing with the IRS and they do not call you, they send you an official letter and they do not threaten to sue you or send someone to your place of employment. They (the IRS) will call you only if you initiate the call and your local county courthouse does not deal in IRS matters, that would be referred to a Federal Court. Just report these fools to the IRS and perhaps they can shut them down once and for all.
received two calls on 12/03 detailing the same message as noted by everyone. thanks for sharing and providing peace of mind. If 4252989553 calls just delete the message.
Just an additional note: we received a call from these fools again today. I blocked the original number and they are now calling from 1-800-829-1040 which is an IRS number, they are using the IRS's number and I hope they bust them big time. I had it with these fools and I reported them to the Federal Treasury Inspector General.
The 425-298-9553 number has called and left a recorded message 3 times in 2 hours. It says IRS, lawsuit being filed, call to avoid it being sent to county courthouse just as everyone else is reporting. I did not answer because I found it odd that if there was some sort of problem, that we would receive a generic message by a computerized voice that mentions no one's name in particular. After the 3rd call, I decided to Google it. Thanks for sharing your experiences so I could confirm my suspicions that this is a scam.
