Caller had my name,said he was from Windows and needed to speak with the owner of home computer,I asked what I could help him with, he asked again for owner of Computer, I hung up. he tried calling back, I didnt answer 2nd time.
Yes, I got one of these calls, but I was at my parents house at the time & had no idea what was going on?! I had a bad feeling when they wanted me to open up my computer, saying was being hacked, which I was already on & ironically just had some sort of weird red flag type pop-up that I'd never seen before, show up when I clicked on a page, about 20 min's before they called(yes "they", it was 2 men, who kept switching back & forth, every time one would get aggravated because I kept saying "I can't understand you" or "Who are you & who do you work for again?", etc.),plus, I thought at first, maybe my parents had some sort of paid protection service, that I didn't know about? If I had been at my own home, when it happened, they wouldn't have gotten through the first sentence, before I hung up! I caught on to their BS after a few min's, & esp. after they started to get really nasty w/ me when I told them they were not getting any information from me or a dime to fix any problems, that I would take my computer to a local tech guy. I have never in my life, had people speak to me so nasty & coming from people who are supposedly trying to help you!haha They were obviously middle eastern, or from somewhere in that general area! The REALLY nasty one, got so mad, he finally hung up on me!lol.. So glad I didn't give them any crucial info., I've since heard horror stories about these people & the scam they pull on these poor older folks or people who don't know who they are(kind of like me that day), by putting a virus or some sort of malware on your computer, then charging you to fix it or have it taken off!
