My husband and I both got calls from a number that only said 201 on our cell pone caller ids. The automated message said our bank debit card had been deactivated and that we needed to call an 1800 number to reactivated it. We both got the call about one and half hours apart. The message said a company name that was unfamiliar to both of us.
Caller said that the were calling from some unauditable Credit Union stating that my card was deactivated. My husband got a call at the same time. They both said to call this number to re-activate our cards.
I received a call on my cell saying my credit union card had deactivated. My wife received the same call minutes after I did saying the same thing. we don't have an account with this credit union at all.
I received a call from this number stating my credit union card had been deactivated. My wife received the same call minutes later stating the same thing. We don't even have an account with the credit union mentioned in the call.
I rec'd a call on my cell phone today (Friday, July 18, 2008 @ 3:08 p.m.) stating that my card is suspended and that I need to call 1-515-414-2182 Central Bank's Security Department to reactivate my card. I reported this call to my bank. I believe this is a fraudulent call and no one should return the call to this number - Beware!!!! Also, the card number that they left on my voicemail does not below to me.
