So I got a call from 516-355-6233, the caller was an older female asking for a donation for the "Breast Cancer Survivor's Fund". She asked if I would support the organization again and if I would let them send out a mailer, only if a "pledge" a donation. I declined. I used *67 (blocked my number) and dialed the number back. The message was for the Long Island Park Police..., I also called back the number without *67 and the message was for the "Breast Cancer Survivor's Fund" The voice on both messages was from the same male voice. If the same number to 2 different "organizations" isn't suspicious, I'm not sure what is.
Called by them numerous times lately, saying that I contributed in the past. I asked for their charity organizations name so I can check them out with the state department. They hang up immediately.
I answered a call to this # also,caller hung up. I called back and got Campaign center for state park police. I dont know why they hand up. Also got two other call from 516-355 6235. Again hang ups.
I called the 6233 number back & its a message saying their the li state park police pba campaign & fundraisers are underway & to visit www.liparkpolicepba.com. many years ago i donated to the pba & now i get these calls all the time!
This has to be a scam!

There is No Such Thing as the Long Island State Park Police.
State Park police that work on Long Island are New York State Park Police.
This is a turn about on the name to make it look legit.
Unless of course, Long Island FINALLY was able to gain it's statehood & forgot to tell us!
