So I got a call from 516-355-6233, the caller was an older female asking for a donation for the "Breast Cancer Survivor's Fund". She asked if I would support the organization again and if I would let them send out a mailer, only if a "pledge" a donation. I declined. I used *67 (blocked my number) and dialed the number back. The message was for the Long Island Park Police..., I also called back the number without *67 and the message was for the "Breast Cancer Survivor's Fund" The voice on both messages was from the same male voice. If the same number to 2 different "organizations" isn't suspicious, I'm not sure what is.
Dano, your wikipedia skills need some remedial training: The Long Island State Parkway Police split decades ago: half their ranks became NYS Troopers and the other half became NYS Park Police Officers.

The PBA is a legitimate 501c5 charity recognized by the federal government and NYS. This is the PBAs only form of fundraising and allows us to continue to donate and support charities that we would otherwise not be able to, as well as provided welfare and support to law enforcement members across the state. It would help if you did some research before you give people mis-information. Our "telemarketing buddies" are not our buddies but instead take the majority of all donations that come in. You can instead help support us directly if you wish in which case 100% of you donation would go to support the programs we sponsor.
