So I got a call from 516-355-6233, the caller was an older female asking for a donation for the "Breast Cancer Survivor's Fund". She asked if I would support the organization again and if I would let them send out a mailer, only if a "pledge" a donation. I declined. I used *67 (blocked my number) and dialed the number back. The message was for the Long Island Park Police..., I also called back the number without *67 and the message was for the "Breast Cancer Survivor's Fund" The voice on both messages was from the same male voice. If the same number to 2 different "organizations" isn't suspicious, I'm not sure what is.
This has to be a scam!
I got a call & a hang up from them tonight.
There is No Such Thing as the Long Island State Park Police.
State Park police that work on Long Island are New York State Park Police.
This is a turn about on the name to make it look legit.
Unless of course, Long Island FINALLY was able to gain it's statehood & forgot to tell us!
Scam - scam - scam!!!
Just got a call from them. Caller ID said: EFLS. I let it ring once, picked up the receiver and hung up. Remember the days before caller ID, when you would answer the phone and listen to nothing but dead air? Caller ID is the greatest invention since sliced bread(LOL).
The number listed on my caller ID is 516-355-6235. I was given the phone by another household member and was told it was the breast cancer asking for donations. I put the receiver up to my ear, at first I heard nothing. Then I heard the woman saying to someone else "She's coming out of the bathroom, I hope she washes her hands before she picks up the phone." After hearing that I said nothing and the solicitor on the phone kept talking to whoever was there. She continued to say, "I'm going to have to call this son of a [***] back. I don't like being put on hold." She then hung up not knowing I wasn't in the bathroom in the first place and on the phone the whole time listening to her [***] and moan while trying to get donations. I tried calling the number back but it's just a recording about donations. I really hope they call back so I could give them a piece of my mind. I would love to see her face when she finds out I can quote her word for word. You are right, I love caller ID.
