I set up an appointment & picked late afternoon so they would get caught in rush hour. A local guy shows up and hands me a card for Monarch Builders (CA Entity Number: C3621536) with a contractors license number on it. I told him I was expecting someone from Superb Builders (CA Entity Number: C3520533). He said it was the same company and showed me a bunch of pre-printed folios that contained their insurance, license number and other stuff. I don't get one of those until I sign a contract. Now I have enough to take them to court.

"My mother made an appointment for an estimate as well. The company also name of Oceanside Remoldeling. The business development people are Jasmine and Larry Harris, they call from phone number 650–262-1906. This phone number happens to be disconnected if you try to call back. The person who confirms your appointment is Larry Harris. All of these names are most likely fictitious. I found this website because I entered the 888 number into address bar after failing to find any information on either of the business names. I am glad I did , consumer beware. I agree that they are scanning seniors."
Clearly this is not only a scam, it appears to be felonious. You may want to report such calls to the police.
8/14 Got a Call from this number / Unknown Name, when I answered they hung up... I have gotten a lot of calls lately form various numbers that say the are contractors doing work in the area. When I say no, they hang up on me..
Also, in my call log 8/8 same number. I remember a call that resembled the air duck cleaner... So sick of these calls.
