A local guy shows up and hands me a card for Monarch Builders (CA Entity Number: C3621536) with a contractors license number on it. I told him I was expecting someone from Superb Builders (CA Entity Number: C3520533). He said it was the same company and showed me a bunch of pre-printed folios that contained their insurance, license number and other stuff. I don't get one of those until I sign a contract. Now I have enough to take them to court.
Telemarketer Mike Curtis calls saying he represents SB Remodeling in Ventura CA and called before about vinyl windows, and now wants to carpet my house. Never talked to this company or person before. He did not understand DNC laws, asked and he agreed to take me off his call list. We will see.
No such company listed on CSLB with contractor license. Fake!
Long story short I asked for his contractors license number and looked it up while still on the phone. Another company's name came up. He started to say the state's web site was hacked. I think they are superb Builder Inc because I had made an appointment and the sub-contractor that showed up gave me a card with a legit contractor license number on it. The caller tried to smooth talk me and then hung up.
John of SB Remodeler (no such company) called again today as a follow up. He forgot our last conversation. Claims they've been in business 35 years and he has been with them for 20. Hire them and you will get an unlicensed contractor to do the work.
