I don't think this is a collection agency, it's a scam of some sort. They've called this business daily, asking for an employee who no longer works for the company. Indian accent, always claims "Andrew" told him to call. When I asked to speak to Andrew, his line is busy. I finally told the Indian guy I was calling the local police to file a harassment report. He suddenly was able to take our name and number off the calling list.
Just had virtually the same conversation with a woman there myself. She would ask questions, then interrupt me when I tried to answer. Didn't have my name right, said I owed 12k (I do not) and asked if I had gone to some business college (I have not). I called the dept of education the last time and was told that if they call back that I need to have them send proof that I owe them before I deal with them again. When I told her that she acted like that was crazy. I told her that I need a copy of the contract I signed-she said that was insane. When I tried explaining for the 3rd time she got nasty and said "if you don't owe the money then why do you want a copy of the contract?". Dunh, if you can't prove I owe you money (and you can't because I don't) then you need to leave me alone.
If you call trying to collect money you are not entitled to, that is fraud. Be careful who you work for because you are their representative and you are liable.
Yeah these guys started calling me at work, I ended up fighting with one of their people, yelling at him and berating him until he hung up on me. Two days later a much more polite woman called, and once she started to get pushy I got super rude with her and then she went out to make me an offer I could actually afford. Scare them, when they threaten garnishment tell them you will quit your job. Just be really rude to them and they eventually cave. I did verify that the Dept of Education does use these folks, and I complained about their behavior and tactics to the Dept of Education, who promised me that an investigation of this company's tactics would be initiated. I don't really care except that they call me on numbers I never gave them, even on my freaking Pre-pay cell, how do they get that number? These guys are a joke, you probably could go without paying these fools and they'd screw up any case they had against you if they tried to get a judgment, just like most debt collectors. Of course the government would use a low-end firm like this though.
they are a student loan collection agency... they called for my wife's account... they are already garnishing her paycheck...what more could they want?
