I don't think this is a collection agency, it's a scam of some sort. They've called this business daily, asking for an employee who no longer works for the company. Indian accent, always claims "Andrew" told him to call. When I asked to speak to Andrew, his line is busy. I finally told the Indian guy I was calling the local police to file a harassment report. He suddenly was able to take our name and number off the calling list.
if a collection agency has your loan.... you can't speak to DOE directly about your account.... they have essentially sold it to a third party... trust me I know ..... I've been going through this for years....i'm just getting in the clear now.... I think..... don't get frustrated... just ignore them if they're rude... SHHH.... here is the trick.... just like any other collection agency they have a limited time to get traction on the bad debt they just bought...occasionally the loan will be sent back to direct loans while it waits to be transfered to another company..... try to catch your account when it is back with the originator...keep checking....
I hate when these collections people call my work trying to harrass my employees. They will not get through when these people are working EVER!!! I will not call someone away from doing their job in order to speak with some blood sucking bill collector that usually uses illegal practices in order to get people to pay in the first place. Get them at home or don't get paid!
