I came home from work and had a message from this woman stating that I had to call this number and gave me this phone number to call back on. something about being a state and legal problem and I had to use this case number she gave me. Then she said I had to call back before they started legal action. My boss told me if if was legal action, they would contact me by mail and not leave a message on the phone. Apparently this is a scam, so i just didn't call it back. She didn't give a company or even an lawyers name. if it was a legal situation, they would of at least given the name of the lawyer or attorneys office name.
I have been getting calls left and right from a company called Oracle Financial Group. Everyone I spoke to was nasty and rude, they started off by saying that I have committed a crime. Also that if I do not take action now I will be prosecuted in the court of law and possibly jail time. I asked if there is an office in California near where I live that I can go to and speak to someone there. I was told no, (very rudely) and was told that they are only located in New York! I asked what did I owe, the man told me an amount that was crazy so explained to him that couldn't be right. He then preceeds to tell me that he was wrong its another amount. At this point im over it. He told me that someone will be coming to my home told me my whole address and stated that I will be summoned to court. check fraud and all types of stuff, at this point take me to court. He stated that I can put this money in their account but wouldn't give me the information. Told me to call him directly and he will speak to the teller and give the teller the information. HELL NO (excuse my language) I did some research and this is what I came up with!!!!!.................. See Below
P.S this man didn't know their phone number he had to look it up then he didn't know his own website smh honey I do not have time TAKE ME TO COURT THEN!!!!
What practices are off limits for debt collectors?
Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not:
•use threats of violence or harm;
•publish a list of names of people who refuse to pay their debts (but they can give this information to the credit reporting companies);
•use obscene or profane language; or
•repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone.
False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not:
•falsely claim that they are attorneys or government representatives;
•falsely claim that you have committed a crime;
•falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit reporting company;
•misrepresent the amount you owe;
•indicate that papers they send you are legal forms if they aren’t; or
•indicate that papers they send to you aren’t legal forms if they are.
Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:
•you will be arrested if you don’t pay your debt;
•they’ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or
•legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don’t intend to take the action.
Debt collectors may not:
•give false credit information about you to anyone, including a credit reporting company;
•send you anything that looks like an official document from a court or government agency if it isn’t; or
•use a false company name.
Unfair practices. Debt collectors may not engage in unfair practices when they try to collect a debt. For example, they may not:
•try to collect any interest, fee, or other charge on top of the amount you owe unless the contract that created your debt – or your state law – allows the charge;
•deposit a post-dated check early;
•take or threaten to take your property unless it can be done legally; or
•contact you by postcard.
Yeah just received call a from 614-505-9709 telling me to call 716-650-4649.. This guy's name was Randall, first he named 3 people and didn't even use my full name. At the end of the call he says you have been notified. SCAM
